Hi Alaroros and Shopaholics alike!
Today we’ll be having a dear lady on the blog: Valerie of Cateyes and Carrots.
You may know her as ritzyliciousme on Twitter, thatnenegirl on IG or Valerie in real life… She is one and the same bundle of love and gorgeousness and I am so glad that she took a step to share her awesomeness via her blog: Cateyes and Carrots. Go! Subscribe! Support the sisterhood! *wink*
Anyway, let me leave you guys with Valerie…
My name is Valerie and I run a blog called Cateyes and Carrots. I am a banker in the day, a writer/blogger when I get off work/weekends, and a Slay enthusiast all the time.
I think I would describe my style as Classic chic. I love structure and intricate detailing and at the same time, I love clean, sharp lines and easy to wear pieces.
– Black Blazer
The Black blazer is easily the most important thing in my entire closet. On the days that I don’t have anything to wear, I can wear my nightgown and throw my black blazer on it and bam, outfit is alright. On the days that I have something planned for later, I can wear my yellow dress with cut outs and tone it down with my black blazer.
– Iro and Buba
Iro and buba is the answer to all questions and the solution to all problems. Wedding, work, church, lunch, meet the parents, Iro and buba is right for whatever occasion.
I love kimonos so much. I think they are so lush and fetch. So effortlessly stylish. I will wear kimonos forever and ever. Even when my kids go; Mummy, this isn’t even in vogue anymore.
– My Tunic
I think my tunic represents my unique style. Side splits so it shows some skin, and a bit sheer so it shows some sexy.
Do perfumes count? Because that’s my key accessory. I can wear jalabiya and slippers with no earrings and no makeup so far I smell like a bag of money.
A recent obsession is perfume oils. They last sooo long and they mix well with body creams/oils if that’s how you want to use it.
My perfume ‘style’ has evolved along the years like my personal style. A few years ago, I wore mostly sweet and fruity scents. Now, I am more inclined to woody and oriental scents.
It took me the longest time to get on the heels train, but a pair of battered zara heels later and I am proud to say I hacked it. I love pumps so much. My favourite pair at the moment is my block heel suede pumps by H & M. It is soo comfortable. People always say heels are comfortable when they are really not, but I shit you not, these are. I had a meeting where I had to be going up and down from morning till 11pm and I wore this shoes and I didn’t die.
I hope you guys enjoyed having Valerie on the blog. I love her love for scents and I can’t wait to bring her back for a post on Affordable Scents by the Seasons (Harmattan, not-so Harmattan, HOT and Rainy Season). Yeah, wos all that Summer… This is how we roll!
