I had a great week and I wanted to celebrate with a large pizza and all the sides, but FitIre and my inner alaroro goddess said no no no, she wanted a wrap. Now, a typical wrap costs between 700 (Hey, Mugg & Bean) to 2000! With that in mind, I basically created a N2000 budget for 4 wraps.
- Pita Bread (N350)
- Lettuce (N155)
- Chicken (1/2 kilo, boneless) (N534.60)
- Spices from the pantry
- Sweet and Sour Sauce (N685)
Pita Bread found at SPAR, thanks to the Twitter nation!
Total = N1724. 60
Step 1: Place chicken in a bowl and sprinkle spices over the chicken. Use your hand to rub the spices in. Blend mint leaves and squeeze a little of the juice on the chicken.
Step 2: Place Chicken in pan (pan has gone from non-stick to stuck on you) and place on fire to cook. No oil, no water yet. Keep flipping the chicken to ensure that both sides cook well. Adda little bit of water as you go along.
Step 3: Take cooked chicken off the heat and place on chopping board. Shred awaaaaay!
Step 4: Lay your foundation. Heat up the Pita Bread and lay it on your plate.
Step 5: Next: Add vegetable layer! Just tear the clean lettuce with your hands and place them neatly on the Pita Bread.
Step 6: Place shredded chicken on lettuce.
Step 7: Dribble Sweet and Sour Sauce on shredded chicken.
Seee, simple and easy chicken wrap for you to try this weekend. Don’t be boring like me, add other veggies or other forms of protein.
Prep your chicken the night before and let the spices sink in – aka. marination!
I made 2 wraps with one chicken breast and ate the other chicken breast with lettuce and the sauce. ^_^
Will you try a wrap this weekend? Just do it!
