It’s a fun fun lovey-dovey mushy post today!
Our dear friends are getting married tomorrow and it just makes me feel so mushy and squishy and everything. I remember our wedding day in flashes and the pictures and videos really help me step back in time.
My fav memory of our pre-wedding season was when we were “building” our playlist of songs that we wanted to dance to or at the very least, listen to at the wedding. In the spirit of love and happiness, let’s talk about the songs we wanted for the wedding and what we got!
Number 1 on the list is This is Why I Love You by MAJOR. You know how YouTube recommends videos for you to watch? This was how I stumbled upon this video and I was weeping on the inside by the time the song was done. Dwele’s Old Lovas is number 2 on the list and it is our oldest shared song. This song serves as an anthem for us and it is usually accompanied by our fav phrase “Lover of my Youth…” Proverbs 5:18 for a better explanation.
ensure you scroll to the end for an Infograph of my fav lines in each song
“Mama, mama! I can’t believe what I’m about to do” *whistles* TJAN finished work on song number 3, Your Smile and y’all know that Yoruba is my “totori” language. Random: The lover probably wonders why I giggle a lot when I hear SLK Comedy’s “omo rere biii custard…” – It’s simple! I love the cadence of the Yoruba language. It sounds so perfect (for insults and love songs). Hailee Steinfield’s Starving closes out this playlist perfectly.
So, what did our DJ give us –
lots and lots and lots of Davido’s If and a fuji-ish version of TJAN’s Your Smile.
So, here’s a wedding tip for you:
Give the DJ your list of songs before hand. Confirm with him that he has those songs available and lastly, assign a friend to hold the DJ in check and make sure he does what he needs to do!

I laugh when I remember it now. Eventually you realise that 1 day does not really have the power to define how forever will go. The lover has these songs (and more) in a playlist on Spotify and we listen to it whenever we can, singing along, harmonising and disturbing the peace.
Which of these songs do you like too? Should I add more? Let me know!
Congratulations to The SIs! Wishing you both great love, joy and wealth forever!
Love and Light,
