Happy Sunday, Happy New Month!
Welcome to September.
The number 9 symbolizes divine completeness and conveys the meaning of finality… A full term pregnancy ideally brings forth fruit in the 9th month, so it feels like 9 is the number of completion. I’m happy to be in this month with you reading this and I hope for an experience that conveys completion for you.
I’m hopeful for this new month and I take a step back to last year… Husband Guy asked me to marry him this time last year (+/- a few days, lol), and on this exact day my journey towards vigorous screen grabs and Pinterest-ing came alive. Today, it’s a holiday, I’m home and sipping on fresh Pineapple Juice x H2O (not water o, the fizzy drink) and writing this post.
What are my hopes for the new month?
The scary C word. Ideation can be pretty useless if one doesn’t put the thoughts/ideas into motion. Inconsistency is a heavyweight I’ve been dealing with. I understand the need to prep ahead and schedule, but there are days I just don’t feel like it. However, I’m learning that I need to create environments to enable my constant success and not put pressure on each day to deliver 100%. Tip: Always set yourself up for success.

Self: I am not always as happy-go-lucky as I appear. I experience and express emotions intensely, so the joy comes across as permanent effervescence and the sadness comes across as full-blown depression. If you have these intense emotional battles as well, join me on this journey of self love in the month of September. Everyday, I want to do 1(one) thing for myself. Like I’m wooing me… On the 1st of September, I made a decision to stay home and enjoy my home. On the 2nd of September, I was happy to host friends. Today, I will be deliberate with my words to myself and go to church. To be consistent with this, I have added text to my 5:30am alarm saying “How will I love myself today? I will love myself by _________”.
Others: How can I be better in my loving, my giving of my time, my words, my actions and my treasures to others? This is the question to answer this month. I can be an impulsive giver (this is a bad thing, guys) and I sometimes find myself giving away things that are not mine to give or things that have been pledged for other activities. Not good. How do we remedy that this month? Be deliberate.
Do you think I can achieve these goals? Yes, actually. I believe that applying the base of Consistency and Love to my life categories will really add value to me this month.
I know this post seems deep, but I really want you to find the roots of your challenges this month. Use the “5 whys” technique and ensure you are honest with yourself. Keep asking why until you get to the root cause and solve that.
I hope for an experience that conveys completion for you and I wish above all things that you experience a September to remember for good.
