How’s it going? How has 2017 been so far? If you participated in the goal-defining journey we had at the beginning of the year, raise ya hand! If not, you can still do it: just click here and make sure you start with this post!
It has been an intense first half for me, what about you? Here’s a short recap of my life in the first half of the year:
If you must know, I divide my posts into three parts: Save (or Invest) First, Spend Smart and Earn More! The core focus of Earn More is to spotlight tips on how to increase your income by engaging successful entrepreneurs or hustlers in these streets! Successful women who combine businesses with their careers or focus on business full time!
Today’s focus is on an Instagram store I really like: Shoepify! Barely a year old, I’d like to say this business has made a mark on feet and pockets across the social media space in Lagos!
Giving us insight into her hustle, here’s Wunmi of Shoepify:
If you haven’t been on the blog in a while, welcome back!
As the name of my blog implies, I can be very *aherm* about money! I know the typical definition of an alaroro is a stingy person (*side-eye world*), but I like to believe that I think twice about every action I take – be it money or other life related decisions! This is a blog about my lifestyle and learnings that I hope will benefit you!
Today, it’s a learning episode as I’ll be sharing my top podcast recommendations for personal finance that you can learn a thing or two from!
Hello Lovely People of the interwebs – Alaroros and Shopaholics alike,
I’m finally getting round to sharing about #0104Ever – my wedding to the most wonderful Husband Guy ever. *insert slow, sweet smile*
Husband Guy went to the Ikoyi Registry to make enquiries before we started the process. This is very key for any one who wants to get married in Lagos. Go there and make enquiries. Try to avoid all those “aunty, afidaifit” people and walk into their office. (I read a recent WhatsApp broadcast about how Local Government registry marriages were not real. So shocking! How have we let this go on for so long if these marriages were fake? Nigeria: Another day, another discovery)
Happy New Week and Welcome again to June! I know i did not finish up The 5 Series in the month of May – We’ve recently moved into our space and work has been work. To make up for this, I’ll be sharing a 6 things post today. If you’ve missed any of The 5 Series posts, just click the big, bold purple text HERE.
I am at a place in my life where there are a lot of decisions to be made. As you know, I recently got married to Husband Guy and we have been having a lot of conversations about life together. No, we did not just start having these conversations – this is like a checkup to know if we are still on the same page about things. Things like our faith, career paths, financials, education, and most importantly, children.
Hello Alaroros and Shopaholics,
Happy New Month! It’s June!!! We’re almost at the halfway point of the year – (Day 182.5 is July 2 please, check your calculations and edit your broadcasts!). Wishing you a beautiful 6th month of the year with lots and lots of wealth!
I am always quick to take a screenshot of images, memes that I can totally relate to when it comes to money. Real life, real tears. Here are a few I have seen and I totally relate with:
How’s it going?
You know how it’s getting closer to pay day and your mind starts wandering between Money Plans (a.k.a Budgets), Responsibilities and Wishlists? Yeah. Yeah. Well, I WANT WHAT I WANT!

We are continuing with the #SeriesOf5s for the month of May and so far, we are going strong. Trust me, having a theme makes blogging wayyyy easier. Well, it is a Monday and everyone who is doing Monday definitely needs #MondayMotivation – I will be sharing my top 5 TED Talks that have provided inspiration for me in my life journey. Before we dive in, who is TED and what doess TED talk about = Well, TED is a media organization which posts talks online for free distribution, under the slogan “ideas worth spreading”. TED was founded in February 1984 as a conference, which has been held annually since 1990. TED Talks are influential videos from expert speakers on education, business, science, tech and creativity. (as seen on Wikipedia)
